August 2019 – New Gallops to be built in East Ilsley
There will be a Planning Meeting for the public and Councillors on Tuesday 27th August, 7:30pm at The Swan Pub in East Ilsley (we are unable to use the school as it is closed for building work until 3rd September). Agenda is below.
This new proposal is from Geoffrey Deacon Training based at the Compton Gallops on Churn Road. They would like to build a new ‘Gallop’ for equestrian use on agricultural land.
Please come along to look at the proposal and to work with the Parish Council on the ‘Parish Observation Sheet’ which must be submitted to WBC at the beginning of September.
All the documents for this proposal can be found here on the WBC planning portal: http://planning.westberks.gov.uk/rpp/index.asp?caseref=19/02070/FUL.

June 2019 – Ilsley Barn Farm Sunrise Hill
The Council discussed this at the Planning meeting on Monday 24th June. It was agreed that there were no objections and they fully support this proposed development citing the following:
- A good re-purposing of the site
- Potential job opportunities for Villagers
- Potential for increased trade at our two village public houses
We would like to see the 30 mph zone moved up Cow Lane to the junction of the development to improve safety as this will bring additional traffic to the area. We have requested this on a number of occasions and been turned down so hopefully this will help in achieving this.
We will keep you posted as and when we hear anything else regarding this application.
